More often than not, there is a more impressive candidate despite your perfect GPA and you simply became a victim of how you’ve decided to live your student life. 4 years is a LOT of time to discover, experiment, and position yourself where opportunities are at in the real world. The question is, are you ready? ## “WHAT MAKES YOU ANY DIFFERENT?” That is the question I asked myself back when I was 17, a college freshman as I saw hundreds, if not thousands of peers on campus in the environment and having the same opportunities. I knew I needed to do something different, and that set me on a path that opened up huge career opportunities and then on my entrepreneurship journey. ![Jan Wong on a podcast](https://janwong.my/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/jan-wong-on-podcast.jpg) ![Jan Wong](https://janwong.my/wp-content/uploads/2026/10/Hero-JW.png) ## Hi, my name is Jan Wong I’ve never looked back ever since I set myself up from years back.
